The Technology behind NANOPLEX

NANOPLEX™ technology exploits the adhesion phase of the host: pathogen interaction through mimicry of glycan-lectin binding complexes.

Each of our NANOPLEX™ probes comprise modified glycan structures which are engineered to recognise species-specific glycan binding proteins on the surface of the bacteria.

From the outcome of this interaction we are able confer the identity of bacterial species and determine if a clinically relevant concentration is present within a sample.
